Sometimes when the boys are having a tough time falling asleep, we spend a few minutes coming up with good places to meet in our dreams to give them something to think about en route to la-la-land. A few nights ago, Brendan and I decided to dream about going to Coney Island to ride the rollercoasters and see a Cyclones game. When I invited Owen to join our dreamscape, he huffed a bit about how this didn't at all fit into his dream plans of going to Indianapolis for the Super Bowl. Happily, we realized that we could all go to Coney Island on Saturday, then go by helicopter to Indy in time for Super Bowl Sunday. Everybody wins. This then prompted an extended reverie from Owen, imagining the Super Bowl in great detail, including the Giants "winning in overtime on a 33-yard pass to Hakeem Nicks on a THIRD DOWN! Wouldn't that be cool?!" If that turns out to be how the big game goes down, I am immediately getting Owen his own bookie. Although he also has predicted a 27-20 Giants victory over the Patriots, presumably because that's what he read last week in Sports Illustrated (which he studies like it's the Torah, even though he can't possibly understand half of what's written there). He cares So! Much! about the Super Bowl that it seems cruel he's only going to be able to watch the first quarter. Brendan is seriously fired up about the Giants too but I suspect he still cares more about the snacks than the actual outcome. As for Henry, his head will most likely explode from seeing all that "football! football! FOOTBALL!" on the big screen. Go Giants!
